'She's ready to outrace coronavirus': Anand Mahindra tweets about 103-year-old woman

Coronavirus has caused widespread panic around the globe. According to business tycoon Anand Mahindra a 103-year-old woman from Chandigarh can “outrace the virus". Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra recently took to Twitter and hailed the achievements of a 103-year-old woman who was awarded the prestigious 'Nari Shakti' award for her achievement in athletics. "The world is consumed by fear of COVID-19, but here's one ninety plus lady, Mrs. Kaur, who won't be scared at all, in my opinion! She looks like she's ready to outrace the virus. What an inspiration," Anand Mahindra tweeted.

He later clarified that Kaur is in fact 100-plus and wrote, "Yes, indeed. I stand corrected. Even more inspirational!"

As the post went viral, Mahindra’s tweet has collected over 9,000 likes and more than 1200 retweets. Several people have posted comments praising Kaur for her achievement and her energy.

A user wrote, "What a darling! She's even embraced the virus in her name...Kaur beats carona...."

Another wrote, "Age is just a number." Our elders have had native food. Nowadays the food has changed...We are proud of our elders," read one post.

Mann Kaur from Chandigarh was among 15 women awarded Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019 at an event held on International Women’s Day. President Ram Nath Kovind gave away the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019 awards at an event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here in New Delhi on Sunday.

The government confers the Nari Shakti Puraskar every year to recognise the relentless service of women towards the cause of women empowerment and social welfare.
