AR Rahman health update: MK Stalin informs, ‘he is fine’; composer’s team crushes ‘chest pain’ rumours

AR Rahman was hospitalised on Sunday in Chennai's Apollo Hospital after a bout of dehydration and neck pain following travel, his teams confirmed after rumours said that he suffered a sudden chest pain. He was later discharged after minor check up.

All tests taken by doctors showed Rehman to be normal, they said.

Refuting media reports as false, his team said,"It's fake news (on heart issues) spreading now. Rahman went to hospital because he got dehydrated and has neck pain due to travel."

Rahman is currently busy with his music projects and several gigs. The singer had joined Ed Sheeran during his Mathematics Tour concert performance in Chennai last month.

‘He is fine and will be back home,’ MK Stalin said

After the news of Rahman's hospitalisation became public, MK Stalin said in a post, as soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal AR Rahman had been admitted to the hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his health!

They said he is fine and will be back home soon! Happy!

Rahman's ex-wife was hospitalised last week

Only last week, his ex-wife, Saira Banu, was recently hospitalized due to a medical emergency and had to undergo surgery.

Sharing the news, her lawyer, Vandana Shah said in a statement, “On behalf of our client, Mrs. Saira Rahman, Vandana Shah and Associates issue the following statement regarding her current health condition. A few days ago, Mrs. Saira Rahman was hospitalized due to a medical emergency and underwent surgery. During this challenging time, her sole focus is on a speedy recovery”

On November 19, 2024, Saira Banu and A.R. Rahman announced their separation after nearly 29 years of marriage. In a statement released by Saira's lawyer, Vandana Shah, the couple cited "significant emotional strain" as the reason for their decision.
