Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal is all set to take oath for the third time as chief minister of Delhi on Sunday. The AAP scored a landslide victory in the Delhi assembly elections 2020 as it swept aside both BJP and Congress. AAP won 62 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly while BJP managed eight seats. Congress failed to win any seat in the recently held Delhi elections.
The Delhi Police tightened the security arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi government at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Arvind Kejriwal urged 'aam aadmi' of Delhi to attend the ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been invited, said senior AAP leader Gopal Rai.
Around 3,000 security personnel from Delhi Police and para military will be implemented in the national capital. There will be a CCTV surveillance of all the routes leading to Ramlila ground, said the Delhi Police. The oath-taking ceremony will start at 10 am.
The Delhi police also issued a traffic advisory for February 16 which will be in place from 8 am to 2 pm. On Sunday, all the cars shall be parked at Civic Centre. All the buses should be parked on Mata Sundri Road, Power House Road, Velodrome Road, Rajghat parking, Shanti Van parking and service roads in Rajghat and Samta Sthal as per requirements, the advisory said, the advisory said.
OB vans shall be parked on the footpath along Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, opposite Ramlila Maidan beyond gate number 2 up to the roundabout near Kamla Market, it stated.
No commercial vehicles or buses will be allowed in the following routes
-Rajghat chowk and Delhi Gate chowk towards Guru Nanak Dev chowk via JLN Marg
-Chatta Rail towards Delhi Gate chowk via Netaji Subhash Marg
-Paharganj chowk towards Ajmeri Gate via Desh Bandu Gupta Road
-Ram Charan Aggarwal chowk towards Delhi Gate chowk via Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
-DDU Minto Road towards Kamla Market chowk via Vivekanand Marg and -Barakhamba Tolstoy towards Ranjit Singh flyover
