Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration highlights: Ayodhya in grip of religious fervour as long-awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla took place on Monday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and other dignitaries. Army helicopters showered flower petals on the temple premises when the consecration took place.
Crafted by the skilled hands of sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, the 51-inch-tall idol, captures the image of a five-year-old Lord Ram standing gracefully on a lotus, all meticulously carved from a single block of stone.
The grand event saw the presence of around 7,000 VVIPs from across the nation which includes actors, sportspersons, industrialists, politicians, etc.
Constructed in the conventional Nagara architectural style, the Ram Mandir compound is designed to span 380 feet in the east-west direction, with a width of 250 feet and an impressive height of 161 feet. The temple's vertical structure consists of floors, each measuring 20 feet in height, supported by a remarkable ensemble of 392 pillars and adorned with 44 gates.
PM Modi followed a strict 11-day ‘anushthan’ and slept on the floor and had coconut water before the ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. He also visited several temples across India ahead of the ‘pran-pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Mandir and took a holy dip at the Rameswaram 'Angi theerth' beach.
While addressing the gathering in Ayodhya after performing rituals in the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, PM Modi congratulated the people as the hundred years long wait ended on Monday.
After the consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, PM Modi encouraged people to “lay foundation of India of next 1,000 years; We take pledge to build a capable, grand, divine India from this moment."
“Ram temple's construction will set off a firestorm. They should reconsider as Ram is energy, not fire, a solution not dispute," said PM Modi in Ayodhya on Monday.
Key Highlights of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony:
-PM Modi performed the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
-Later he performed the ‘aarti’ of the Ram Lalla idol inside the sanctum sanctorum affter the idol was unveiled at the temple in the presence of the prime minister.
-After performing the whole ritual, PM Modi addressed the gathering at the temple and congratulated people. "Lord Ram has finally arrived (in his abode) following the wait of centuries. After the patience that we showed for centuries and the sacrifices we made, our Lord Ram has finally arrived," PM Modi said during his address.
-After addressing the gathering, PM Modi offered prayers at Kuber Tila Shiva temple and unveiled Jatayu statue. The ancient Shiv temple located on the Kuber Tila in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex is also being renovated by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is constructing the Ram temple.
-Later, he showered flower petals upon the workers who were the part of the construction crew of the Ram Mandir.

‘It is doubtful if PM Modi observed fast for 11 days’: Congress' Veerappa Moily
“During a morning walk today, a doctor, who was accompanying me said it is not possible for anyone to survive for 11 days without food. If someone has survived then it is a miracle. Hence, it is doubtful that he (Modi) observed fast," Congress' Veerappa Moily. “If he (Modi) had done Pooja in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple without observing fast then that place will become impure and will not generate (supernatural) power. He (Modi) says he has observed fast for 11 days and survived only on tender coconut. There were no signs of fatigue on his face. People, and not me are questioning whether he observed fast or not," Moily, a former union minister said.
Delhi BJP plans Ayodhya trip for its workers
The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has devised a strategy wherein its members will embark on a pilgrimage, referred to as 'darshan,' to the recently constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, as disclosed by party officials on Tuesday. According to a senior BJP leader, workers representing each of the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the national capital will be dispatched to Ayodhya in the upcoming days. Each participant is expected to contribute ₹789 towards the pilgrimage, adhering to a plan outlined by the Delhi BJP for these journeys to the sacred city in Uttar Pradesh.
The commencement of these trips to Ayodhya is scheduled after Republic Day, around January 30, as highlighted by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva. Additionally, he mentioned that the Delhi BJP is set to "coordinate" visits for individuals to the city in the near future.
People won't forgive those who declined invite for Ayodhya ceremony: Scindia
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said the people will not forgive those who refused to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram idol in Ayodhya. He was responding to a reporter's question here about Congress leaders not attending Monday's grand `Pran Pratishtha' ceremony. "Those who were invited to the consecration ceremony and refused will not be forgiven by the country's people," said the BJP leader. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had refused the invite for the January 22 ceremony, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of turning it into a political project.
January 22 was a historic day for India and the rest of the world, which became possible only "due to the able son of Maa Bharti, Narendra Modi, after a wait of 500-years," said Scindia, who quit the Congress in 2020. (PTI)

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya saw a tremendous turnout on Tuesday with lakhs of devotees queueing up for darshan. Security personnel were left struggling to maintain order as impatient worshippers broke through police lines. By Tuesday evening around 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh people had offered their prayers while a similar number remained in line.
“So much crowd has gathered here today that not everyone will be able to have darshan today and the same crowd will be visible tomorrow and for the next few days," opined Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das.
Ram Lalla set to be called ‘Balak Ram’
The 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram Lalla will be called by the name “Balak Ram", as it is the embodiment of the child form of Lord Ram, according to a priest associated with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony held at Shri Ramjanmbhoomi temple in Ayodhya on Monday, January 22.
“The idol of Lord Ram, whose consecration was done on January 22, has been named 'Balak Ram'. The reason for naming the idol of Lord Ram as 'Balak Ram' is that he resembles a child, whose age is five years," news agency PTI quoted Arun Dixit, a priest associated with the Ram Temple ceremony.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who was one of the prominent film personalities to attend the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram temple, on Tuesday described the event as "a day filled with the relevance of divine spirit".
Bachchan, 81, was accompanied by his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, 47, to the ceremony, which was held on Monday in Uttar Pradesh's temple town believed to be Lord Ram's birthplace.

Devotees in their thousands thronged the gates of the Ram Mandir complex in Ayodhya, jostling to enter the temple that opened to the public on Tuesday, a day after the consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol.

Prohibitory orders have been clamped in Wadi town in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district following a quarrel during a Lord Ram idol procession, police said on Tuesday. The prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 which will remain in force until 6 am on January 25 have been issued as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident, they said. According to the police, a quarrel took place during the procession following an alleged stone-pelting incident on Monday between two groups. (PTI)
