Bangalore Metro: BMRCL has an important update about Yellow Line operations. Read here

With a promise to provide better transport facilities for the commuters of Bangalore, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) informed that the much-awaited Yellow Line of the Bangalore metro will commence its operation in December this year. The Yellow Line connecting Bommasandra with RV Road will be completed in on go now by December 2023.

Earlier, the metro authority had decided to open the Yellow Line in two phases- Bommasandra to the Central Silk Board in the first phase in June and Central Silk Board to RV Road in the second phase in December. The decision to complete the project in one go came as the BMRCL opined that opening only a part of the line with not draw much ridership.

The Bangalore Metro authorities are working well on the objective to lay down a 175-kilometer metro network by 2025.

In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro Line. PM Modi was accompanied by the Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and then Chief Minister Basvaraj Bommai.

PM Modi placed significant emphasis on advancing the creation of top-tier urban transportation systems throughout the nation. As part of this strategic vision, the unveiling of the Reach-1 extension project in Bangalore Metro Phase 2 has recently taken place, encompassing a 13.71 km stretch from Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro to Krishnarajapura Metro Line.

With an estimated expenditure of approximately ₹4250 crore, the inauguration of this metro line is anticipated to offer commuters in Bengaluru a transportation solution that is efficient, secure, rapid, and comfortable. This development aims to improve the overall mobility experience and alleviate traffic congestion within the city.
