PremiumBanks will remain closed for as many as twelve days this month (June 2023), which includes Second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sundays, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar. Of these, six holidays are listed under the Holidays Under Negotiable Instruments Act, while the remaining six days are weekend leaves - Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has placed the holidays under three brackets- Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
Bank Holidays in June 2023: Full list
4 June 2023: Banks will remain closed as it's a Sunday.
10 June 2023: Banks will be closed due to the second Saturday.
11 June 2023: All banks remain closed on Sundays
15 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Odisha and Mizoram and Odisha on account of Raja Sankranti.
18 June 2023: Banks will be closed as it's a Sunday
20 June 2023: Banks will remain shut in Odisha due to Rath Yatra.
24 June 2023: All banks are closed on fourth Saturdays.
25 June 2023: Banks observe a holiday on Sundays.
26 June 2023: Banks will remain shut in Tripura on account of Kharchi Puja.
28 June 2023: Banks in Kerala, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed for Eid Ul Azha.
29 June 2023: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Eid ul Azha,
30 June 2023: Banks in Mizoram and Odisha will be closed on account of Reema Eid Ul Azha
People should keep a tab on bank holidays in June before planning to visit their branch. Apart from that, it is also crucial as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued an order to replace the ₹2,000 currency notes. The deadline for exchanging these notes is set for 30 September.
