All commercial banks in India will remain closed for 2-3 days this week due to bank holidays. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks were closed today on account of Bakri Id or Id-ul-Zuha.
Again on Thursday, banks will be shut on account of Independence Day and Rakshabandhan festival. In most cities, banks will be open on Saturday as it is the third Saturday of the month. Banks are shut on second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
In Maharashtra's Mumbai and Nagpur, banks will, however, be shut this Saturday due to Parsi New Year under the Negotiable Instruments Act. In other cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, etc, banks will remain open on Saturday.
Later on, in the second half of this month banks will again be closed either on 23rd or 24th due to Krishna Janmashtmi.
