Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth kills 4-year-old son in Goa. Who is the startup founder?

A Bengaluru CEO has allegedly killed her 4-year-old son in Goa, said police on Tuesday, adding that the 39-year-old woman travelled with the body to Karnataka, according to PTI reports. 

Police informed the woman is a startup founder, Suchana Seth, who killed the boy in an apartment in Goa. She hired a taxi to carry the body and kept it inside a bag while travelling to Karnataka, the cops added.

They said the CEO has been arrested and charged with murder. The child's body has been recovered by the cops, the report said. 

She stayed in an apartment in North Goa's Candolim, witnesses claimed. They said blood stains were seen in the house. 

The official also said that the motive behind the murder is yet to be known as the accused woman has not been interrogated so far as she is being brought to Goa from the neighboring state.

“A team of Goa police, which is investigating the case, is currently in Chitradurga district in Karnataka. The accused has been formally placed under arrest and is being brought to Goa. She will be here by this afternoon,” said Superintendent of Police (North) Nidhin Valsan. 

The accused has been booked by the Calangute police under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence), and also under the Goa Children's Act, he added.

Who is Suchana Seth? 

1) Suchana Seth is the Chief Executive Officer of a startup called ‘Mindful AI Lab’. She was among the top ‘100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021’, according to her LinkedIn page. 

2) “Suchana is an AI ethics expert and data scientist with over 12 years of experience in mentoring data science teams, and scaling machine learning solutions at startups and industry research labs,” her profile description read. 

3) Suchana Seth has held research fellowships at the Raman Research Institute, the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University, and Data & Society as a Mozilla Fellow, it added. 

4) She is also a patent holder in natural language processing.
