The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has on Sunday issued an ‘extremely heavy rainfall’ warning over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on 4th July. Moreover, the weather office also issued isolated heavy to heavy rainfall over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka during next four days i.e. till 6 July.
The coastal Karnataka and parts of Malnad districts is likely to receive heavy rainfall along with isolated spells of very very heavy rainfall from 3rd July, Indian Express has reported citing IMD. Moreover, it also said that Bengaluru, and other South Interior Karnataka districts would also likely see heavy rains from tomorrow i.e. from 4 July.
Apart from Karnataka, isolated heavy to heavy rainfall has also been predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during next four days.
As per IMD, isolated heavy rainfall also likely over over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during 3rd-05 July with extremely heavy falls over over Kerala and Mahe on 4th and 5th July.
The weather office has also predicted isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Telangana on 04th and 05th July; over Rayalaseema on 3rd-5th July; over North Interior Karnataka on 4th and 6th July and over Lakshadweep on 4th July.
IMD on Sunday also informed that Tamil Nadu will likely receive light to moderate rainfall in several districts in the next 4 days. "On July 3, Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranippet, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore and Puducherry districts", the IMD said in a statement.
The statement further said that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on July 4.
"On July 4, Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Theni districts will experience heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places and Tirupur, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts will receive heavy rainfall at one or two places", the statement added.
