Days after BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur took a girl to watch 'The Kerala Story' film, she eloped with her Muslim lover. Earlier, Sadhvi Pragya had advised the girl to stay away from her boyfriend Yusuf, news platform India Today reported on Monday.
The 19-year-old girl from Bhopal decided to elope with Yusuf just before her marriage which was scheduled on 30 May. According to the family of the girl, she also took cash and jewelry with her. The family has alleged that Yusuf trapped their girl with sweet talk.
The family has registered a complaint at Bhopal's Kamla Nagar police station against Yusuf and alleged that he took a loan in the girl's name and forced her to pay the loan's equated monthly installment (EMI).
Yusuf is a history sheeter and has around six cases registered against him. In her statement to the police, the girl has submitted that she eloped with Yusuf out of her own will.
‘The Kerala Story’
'The Kerala Story' directed by Sudipto Sen claims to showcase the plight of Hindu women in Kerala who are brainwashed and converted to Islam. The Adah Sharma-starrer film highlights how these converted girls are sent to Syria and forced to join the IS.
Against the backdrop of all the controversies and allegations, ‘The Kerala Story’ was watched widely in India and has earned more than ₹250 crore in Indian theatres, while the collections in global theatres in close to ₹300.
