New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered breath analyser examination for staff engaged in aircraft maintenance, air traffic control services, airport operations and ground handling services at multiple airports across the country from Wednesday, a senior official with the regulator said in a statement
Airlines like AirAsia India, Air India, GoAir, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Vistara will also implement breath analyser test for its staff from Wednesday, the official added.
The roll out of breath analyser test for airport and airline staff is expected to be completed by 30 October.
At present, this will be implemented at airports in cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kannur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Varanasi, Vijayawada, and Vishakhapatnam.
