BSF shoots down another Pakistani drone carrying narcotics in Amritsar, Punjab

Days after recovering Pakistani drone carrying narcotics in Punjab, Border Security Forces (BSF) troops disabled another attempt of drug smuggling from Pakistan to India on Saturday. The BSF troop shot down a drone carrying suspected narcotics from Pakistan along the International Border near Rai village in Amritsar, Punjab.

Earlier, a Pakistani drone carrying along the International Border near Rai village was recovered by the forces on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The Punjab Frontier's PRO, said that they are suspecting the smuggled item to be heroin due to its gross weight of approx 5.5 kg. "On June 10, at around 4 am BSF troops deployed at the border reported an Indian space violation by a drone coming from the Pakistan side. Troops also heard the sound of something having fallen in a farming field in depth area near the Rai village in Amritsar. As per the laid down drill, BSF troops immediately reacted, " the PRO added.

In the earlier incident, the BSF troop found the suspected material during their subsequent search of the area. Soldiers found one large packet, wrapped in a yellow colour adhesive tape frpm the farming field on the outskirts of Village Rai. The tape was attached with a hook.

On the opening of the big basket,  a total of five packets of heroin of 5.5 kg weight were recovered. All of them were wrapped with yellow clour adhesive tape.

The BSF troops were able to track down and the smuggled contraband items due to their alertness. This time, the BSF team was also joined by the police force during their search operations. The item recovered this time was looked similar to heroin recovered days ago by the BSF feam from field. The packet was wrapped in a yellow coloured adhesive tape was also recovered from the farming field on the outskirts of the Reasr Kakkar village in Amritsar. The packet was also attached with a green colour nylon rope and  a hook.
