The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced Class 10 results for the students who appeared in the exams this year. A total of 93.12 per cent of students cleared the exam, the pass percentage down by 1.28 per cent points since last year. The board has also announced it will not publish the merit list to avoid "unhealthy competition".
"No merit list will be declared by the CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among the students. However, the board will issue merit certificates to 0.1 per cent of students who have scored the highest marks in various subjects," a senior CBSE official said.
Officials informed that Class 10 girls outperformed Class 10 boys again. While the pass percentage of the girls who appeared in CBSE Class 10 exams is at 94.25, the pass percentage of boys stood at 92.27. A total of 1.34 lakh students were placed in in compartment category which means that they would have reappear for the subjects they have failed.
Students can now check the results on results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in. The results are also available on DigiLocker and UMANG apps. The board may also provide these results via IVRS and SMS.
Students can check their marks on results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in or digilocker.gov.in using roll number, school number, admit card ID and date of birth.
