Chandrayaan-3 is all set to be launched on July 13.

India's third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, is all set to lift off from Sri Harikota on Friday. From conducting all the last-day checks to banning all the construction and major activities in the city, preparations are in full swing for D-day.

The rocket is scheduled to be launched on July 15 at 2:35 pm. If all the factors favour India's lunar mission, the Chandrayaan-3 will land on the moon on August 23. However, the landing date may change based on the sunrise on the moon. Due to any reason, if the Chandrayaan-3 landing gets delayed, then it will be scheduled for the next month in September, said S. Somanath, ISRO chief.

"On July 14 at 2.35 pm, Chandrayaan-3 will lift off and if everything goes well, it will land (on the moon) on August 23...the date is decided based on when is the sunrise on the moon, it will depend on the calculations, but if it gets delayed then we will have to keep the landing for the next month in September," he said. Before the launch of India's ambitious lunar space mission, know all about Chandrayaan-3.

Chandrayaan 3 Launch

The space rocket will be launched on July 14 next week. It is the third installment of the Chandrayaan series. It is India's second attempt at a successful soft landing on the Moon's surface. Till now, only three countries have successfully landed spacecraft on the airless lunar world.

‘Prism’ launch at Satish Dhawan Space Centre

Ahead of the launch of Chandrayaan 3, a unique launch will take place at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The book named ‘Prism: The Ancestral Abode of Rainbow’ will be launched on July 13. The book is a collection of science articles and is authored by the award-winning filmmaker-writer Vinod Mankara. He proved his mettle with his film ‘Yanam’, which is a science-Sanskrit documentary on India's historic Mars Orbiter Mission 'Mangalyaan'.

Ban on construction work and digging around Sriharikota

In the wake of the ongoing preparations related to India's lunar mission, road construction activities have also been banned around the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, until July 14. Tamil Nadu's telecom department has banned all digging and construction activities around the space station. The move will ensure the safety of communication lines at the time of the Chandrayaan-3 space launch.

India's space sector to reach $1 trillion sector in the coming decades

Based on the current trajectory of growth, India's space sector could become a USD 1 trillion sector in the coming decades, said India's G20 sherpa, Amitabh Kant citing several studies, reported PTI.

With the successful completion of the Chandrayaan-3 landing, ISRO aims to achieve finesse in a safe and soft landing on the moon. "We are good with the landing system. Rover will come out after landing, the rover has 6 wheels, and we are expecting the rover will work for 14 days on the moon...With the support of multiple cameras on the rover we will receive images. We have a solar panel on the rover. We already tested it, and we have good results with the battery," Somanath added.
