
A civil defence "mock drill on hostile attack” was held at 10 locations across Delhi at 8 pm on Friday, April 2. The drill has been organised by the North Delhi District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
The preparations for the "Civil Defence Mock Exercise on Hostile Attack" was finalised during a meeting that took place on April 1, under the chairmanship of Ajay Kumar, IAS, DM North East, Delhi.
"A comprehensive Table Top Exercise was successfully conducted today at the DC Office Complex, Nand Nagri, to finalize preparations for the Civil Defence Mock Exercise on Hostile Attack scheduled for 02.04.2026," the statement read.

According to the Directorate of Civil Defence, the mock drill was held at these 10 locations in Delhi:
Ajay Kumar, DM/DEO of North East Delhi District, said on X that the mock drill “is being organized in Delhi on 02.04.2026, with the objective of testing preparations in emergency situations.”
“This exercise is for your safety. Your cooperation will help us in better disaster management,” the statement read.
The drills come amid the ongoing war between the US, Israel and Iran.
Authorities have clarified that this is only a mock drill and there is "no real danger of any kind." They also urged residents not to panic because these drills.
A public awareness notice was issued by the District Disaster Management Authority (North-East) and District Civil Defence Office, North-East District, Delhi Office of the District Magistrate (North East), informing people about the mock drill and detailing what they should and should not do.
Civil defence exercises or mock drills were last conducted across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir under “Operation Shield” on May 31.
Before this, these exercises were last conducted across the nation on 7 May amid India-Pakistan tensions along the borders.
