Congress took a jibe at Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on Wednesday and shared her ‘missing' poster. The poster is seen as a jibe at Smriti Irani's silence on the wrestlers' protest against a leader of her party, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. In another tweet, Congress also attacked Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi with Smriti Irani and said ‘one hides her tweets’ while the ‘other runs.’

The jibe against Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi came as she tried to escape the questions on the wrestlers' protest on Tuesday.

Smriti Irani didn't take much time to respond to the ‘missing’ poster and said, “O divine political creature, I have just left Sirsira village, Vidhan Sabha Salon, Lok Sabha Amethi towards Dhuranpur." The Union Minister also attacked Rahul Gandhi, who was recently disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP. “If looking for a former MP please contact the US," Smriti Irani added.

Many leaders of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), especially women leaders are attacked for their silence on the wrestlers' protest. The top Indian wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia have accused the BJP MP and chief of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment against female wrestlers' including minors.

The wrestlers were protesting at Jantar Mantar since 23 April, demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan, but on 28 May Delhi Police removed them from the protest site after the wrestlers tried to lead a women ‘Mahapanchayat’ towards the new Parliament building.

Internationally acclaimed sportspersons like Neeraj Chopra, Abhinav Bindra, Sunil Chhetri, Anil Kumble, etc. have voiced their support for the wrestlers and condemned the Delhi Police action against wrestlers on the day India celebrated its new Parliament.

Brij Bhushan on Wednesday reiterated his innocence and said if the wrestlers' have any evidence against him, they should submit it in court and he is ‘ready to be hanged’ if found guilty.
