NEW DELHI : The Haryana government said Tuesday that the total number of coronavirus (also known as Covid-19) cases in the state has rose to 16, with Gurugram registering the highest 10 patients.

The state government said Faridabad, Sonipat, Palwal and Panchkula districts registered one case each, while Panipat has two cases.

The Manohar Lal Khattar government today also launched the complete lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The state medical bulletin said 8,675 passengers and people were put under surveillance till date. Out of them 617 have completed surveillance period of 28 days.

The Khattar government has launched a voluntary programme to provide public services relating to combating coronavirus. Those who are interested to give their services can register themselves on haryana.mygov.in and covidharyana.in

To break the chain of transmission, the state government has directed its employees to work from home to ensure social distancing till 31 March.

Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday appointed 447 doctors and created a revolving fund of 100 crore for each crucial departments to battle the coronavirus.
