As the number of coronavirus cases rose to 30 in India, the Delhi government today ordered closure of all primary schools in the national capital till March 31.

"As a precautionary measure to prevent the possibility of spread of COVID-19 amongst our children, Delhi Government has directed immediate closure of all primary schools (Govt/ aided/ private/MCD/NDMC) till 31/3/20," Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, said on Twitter.

Delhi Government has also temporarily suspended biometric attendance in its offices in wake of coronavirus threat.

India has so far not reported any coronavirus related deaths but the number of positive cases has jumped to 30 now. Delhi has so far reported one case while another case has been confirmed from the neighbouring Ghaziabad. Six people, who came in contact with the Delhi patient, have also tested positive in Agra. All these patients are now being treated in Delhi.
