As India is fighting to contain the novel coronavirus, seventy five cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru went into complete lockdown till 31 March.
Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Puducherry and Uttarakhand are in lockdown till month end.
Trains, metros and inter-state buses have been shut from today. The government is taking strict measures to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus, which has killed seven people and infected 396 in the country.
PIB India tweeted a list of 75 Indian districts where only essential services will be operational from tomorrow till March 31. The list was released after the Cabinet Secretary had a meeting with Chief Secretaries of all states Sunday morning.
Markets, malls, cinemas, schools, colleges and gyms are already shut in most of the states. Section 144 is imposed in several parts of the country.
During the lockdown, no cabs, taxis, auto-rickshaws will be allowed to operate. Private vehicles will also be banned. Only vehicles of police, health, fire, prisons, electricity, water, chemists, petrol pumps will be allowed.
During the lockdown, only essential services including water, power, groceries, milk, petrol pumps, medicines, and ATMs will be allowed.
