NEW DELHI : Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that the national capital is fully prepared to deal with the deadly coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) and appealed Delhi citizens not to panic.
"We are fully prepared to deal with coronavirus; don't need to panic," Arvind Kejriwal said.
The Delhi chief minister said 168 isolation beds are being set up at 25 hospitals in the city sate for coronavirus patients.
Kejriwal said the Delhi government has ordered DTC and cluster buses, Delhi Metro and hospitals to be disinfected on a regular basis as a precautionary measure to deal with the deadly virus.
The chief minister appealed Delhi citizens to inform the state government if anybody from their neighbourhood had returned from foreign in past 14 days.
"Appeal to people in Delhi if anybody from your neighbourhood returned from foreign in past 14 days, please inform govt," said CM Arvind Kejriwal
Kejriwal said Delhi has three positive cases and one suspected case of corona virus. The first patient came in contact with 105 people, the 2nd patient came in contact with 168 people and 3rd patient came in contact with 64 people. All these people have been quarantined, their samples taken.
The Delhi chief minister also appeal to employers to give paid leave to those quarantined so that their livelihood is not affected.
