Two more positive cases of coronavirus have been reported from Bangalore today, Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu informed in a tweet. With this the total number of cases in Karnataka is now 13. The two infected people have had recently travelled abroad. A 56-year old male, who is a resident of Bangalore, recently returned from America while another 25-year-old female has returned from Spain, the minister stated.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa held an emergency cabinet meeting on measures to contain the COVID-19 fallout at the state secretariat. In the assembly, the Chief Minister said in Kannada, "Situation will go out of control if coronavirus spread is not contained. Tough measures are being taken to control the situation.
The state government has ordered the closure of places of mass gatherings including malls, theatres, marriages and even asked technology companies to extend work from home for its employees.
The total number of cases across the country has risen to 147. Three people have so far died of the infection in the country. The virus had first emerged in China's Wuhan city in December last year.
