Rajnath Singh engages with Indian diaspora in Nigeria, highlights India’s rising global significance

PremiumNew Delhi: Defence minister Rajnath Singh championed India’s growing global stature, attributing it to the country’s burgeoning economy and proactive governmental initiatives.
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Nigeria on 29 May, Singh highlighted the increasing prominence of the Indian diaspora globally, commending the positive impact of the Indian community in Nigeria and expressing his faith in their capacity to uphold India’s image.
The minister underscored India’s ambitious pursuit of self-reliance, termed “Aatmanirbharta", drawing attention to India’s impressive advancements in the area of defence exports. Singh underscored the goal of “Make in India, Make for the World", lauding the nation’s armed forces for their efficacy in addressing threats and challenges.
The purpose of Singh’s visit to Abuja was to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu. With more than 50,000 Indians residing in Nigeria, Indian-run enterprises have grown into substantial employment sources within the nation.
