Delhi lockdown to start at 6 am Monday, until 31 March: Kejriwal

'We know people will face difficulties, but lockdown is necessary to contain spread of coronavirus,' says Delhi CM

    Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced complete lockdown in the national capital until 31 March in wake of coronavirus outbreak.

    Lockdown to start at 6 am on Monday, dairies, grocery shops, chemists and petrol pumps to remain open, he said.

    No public transport will operate during lockdown, essential services including medical services will function.

    "We know people will face difficulties, but lockdown is necessary to contain spread of coronavirus. Delhi's borders will be sealed during lockdown but will ensure people providing essential services do not face difficulties," said Kejriwal.

    No transport services will be allowed, despite few DTC buses.

    There are 27 cases in Delhi - 6 of them fall under the category of transmission, 21 had come from foreign countries, the Chief Minister said.
