Delhi minor murder case: Accused discards weapon in Rithala; escalating investigation
According to sources from the Delhi Police, Sahil, the prime suspect in the case, had switched off his phone following the murder.

As reported by ANI citing Delhi Police sources, following the crime, the accused, identified as Sahil, disposed of the weapon in Rithala and boarded a bus to Bulandshahr. The local beat office was informed about the incident by the community members approximately 10 minutes after the crime, prompting police to arrive at the crime scene.
According to sources from the Delhi Police, Sahil, the prime suspect in the case, had switched off his phone following the murder. However, the police have managed to recover his phone.
Sahil took two buses to reach Bulandshahr, possibly as an attempt to mislead the authorities. During the initial questioning, he has been unable to provide satisfactory answers to some queries. As a result, the police intend to take him into custody for further interrogation.
"The minor was allegedly killed after being stabbed multiple times and her head being crushed with a boulder in New Delhi's Shahbad Dairy area," the police said.
According to the police, the initial findings from the post-mortem examination of the minor girl indicate that she was brutally attacked by Sahil, the accused, in the Shahbad Dairy area of Delhi. The report reveals that Sahil stabbed her 16 times before crushing her skull with a boulder.
However, the detailed post-mortem report is yet to be received by the police. It is mentioned that Sahil and the victim were in a relationship, but they had an altercation on Sunday night, which led to the tragic incident where Sahil subjected her to multiple assaults resulting in her death.
An FIR has been filed by the police at Shahbad Dairy Police Station under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It has been reported by sources that the victim had a tattoo on her hand with the name "Praveen."
"The accused Sahil and the deceased were friends for the last 3 years. The deceased wanted to separate from Sahil but he was angry about this. There was also a fight between the two on Saturday in which the deceased also threatened Sahil to complain to the police," sources said.
Despite the presence of several locals at the scene, no one took any action or intervened in the matter.
