NEW DELHI : Delhi Metro closed the entry and exit gates of Jaffrabad metro station on Sunday after an overnight protest by more than 500 people, mostly women, against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens.
"The entry & exit of Jaffrabad have been closed. Trains will not be halting at this station," the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) said in a tweet.
Over 500 people, mostly women, have blocked the road outside Jaffarabad Metro Station in northeast Delhi from Saturday night, demanding the government to revoke the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The women were carrying the tricolour and raising slogans of 'aazadi'. The protesters said they would not move from the site till the Centre revoke the CAA.

Delhi police has deployed heavy security in Jaffrabad area as protesters agitating near the metro station blocked road no. 66 which connects Seelampur with Maujpur and Yamuna Vihar.
