Delhi news: A man's private parts were chopped off by his friends after they offered him alcohol in a park in Delhi. The victim is undergoing treatment at a hospital
A man suffered severe injuries after his friends attacked him in an intoxicated state and chopped off his private parts in the Seelampur area of northeast Delhi, police said on Monday.
The 22-year-old victim, Sonu, was reportedly assaulted by his friends after they took him to a park and offered him alcohol. Later, Sonu was reportedly assaulted by his friends, who even chopped off his private parts.
After the attack, Sonu's brother took him to the Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. Later, the doctors referred the victim to a higher medical facility for specialised care.
Police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, officials said, adding that a hunt is on to arrest the attacker who is at large.
The incident occurred on January 10, when Sonu's friends offered him alcohol and attacked him with a knife.
The police received the information about the crime on 11 January, and registered a case under sections of 115(2)/126(2) BNS. The investigation is underway and the attempt are undergoing to arrest the accused in the case.
In another incident in Delhi, a man's private parts were allegedly chopped off by his wife after an argument between them in November last year. A case was registered against the woman and the investigation was done.
The victim is a native of Bihar and had shifted with his wife to Delhi in 2024. He used to work as a paying guest accommodation in Shakti Nagar. One night, when he returned to home in a drunken state, he indulged in a quarrel with his wife. The quarrel ended after his wife left the house. However, she returned after he fell asleep and attacked him.
"After the quarrel, his wife left the house and he fell asleep. Later, the woman entered the house and attacked him with a sharp and pointed object on his private part and fled," PTI quoted the investigating officer as saying.
