The Delhi Police on Monday has apprehended two person in connection with the incident where a student was stabbed to death in Delhi University Campus.
Two persons including a school dropout have been apprehended, police said as quoted by news agency ANI. The two held has been identified as Rahul who is a 1st year BA student and his friend Haroon who is a school dropout.
While speaking to ANI, Manoj C, DCP (South West Delhi) said, “The investigation is in progress. We have identified two more persons involved in this incident.”
While speaking to ANI, the victims father Sanjay said, “Police have told us nothing so far. We did not have a word with Police till now. Yesterday at 12pm, I received a call from the students who took my son to the hospital...Police kept these students here (Police station) throughout the night...”
Officials said that the victim student was allegedly stabbed to death at Delhi University's South Campus on Sunday afternoon.
The police in its preliminary investigation found that a fight broke out between the two over a dispute pertaining to a girl, during which the victim was stabbed to death.
DCP Manoj C said that the deceased student, identified as Nikhil Chauhan, was a BA (H) 1st-year student of the School of Open Learning.
"About a week ago, one of the students in college misbehaved with his girlfriend. On Sunday, at 12:30 pm, the main accused from the same college along with 3 others met Nikhil outside the college gate and stabbed him," he said.
The incident took place outside the college gate where a group of around four youths came on motorcycles and allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest, the police said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a student of the School of Open Learning allegedly misbehaved with Chauhan's girlfriend in college around a week ago. When he objected to the harassment, the accused got angry and allegedly decided to take revenge, the police told PTI.
"Chauhan was upset after the accused student misbehaved with his girlfriend. He then got into a heated argument with the (accused) student. They had a fight and threatened each other. The accused student decided to take revenge and, with the help of his friends, attacked the victim," another police officer said.
Tagging two a media report about murder in Delhi, AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj slammed L-G said in a tweet said, “How do we send our daughters out ?” He also wrote, “LG saab has miserably failed in his primary duty of Law & order. He is busy interfering in the works of govt. He should put forth his report card on policing ? How many surprise inspections of police stations? How many times he visited Victims in last year?”
In another incident of murder case of two sisters in RK Puram, two more accused persons have been apprehended, informed Delhi Police on Monday. They have been identified as Kishan Chaudhary (27) and Ganesh Swamy (39). Overall 5 persons have been nabbed till now in the murder case of two sisters. Earlier, Arjun, Mickel and Dev were arrested in this case.
