The infamous gunman of Delhi violence Shahrukh has been arrested by the Delhi Police crime branch from Uttar Pradesh, News Agency ANI reported. Shahrukh had pointed a pistol at Delhi Police Constable during the recent violence in northeast Delhi on February 24.

"Shahrukh, the man in red t-shirt who had opened fire at police during violence in North East Delhi on 24th February, has been arrested by Delhi Police Crime Branch from Uttar Pradesh," ANI tweeted.

Shahrukh had been absconding ever since the incident last week. The police is searching for Shahrukh's family as well.

Violence devastated northeast Delhi for 3 days since February 23 and continued till February 25 night. Over 46 people have been killed while over 200 people have been injured in the violence.

Around 200 FIRs have been lodged so far in this connection and out of these, 40 contain murder related sections. These FIRs include charges of instigating violence, arms act, attempt to murder, causing harm to government property and obstructing the government's work. Around 1000 people have been arrested so far in the violence related incidents.
