Delhi-NCR experienced a downpour accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms as the day began, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting the continuation of pleasant weather for the upcoming three to four days.
"A cluster of cloud patches are passing through the Delhi-NCR. Under its influence: Thunderstorm/ Duststorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 40-70 Km/h would continue Delhi-NCR & adjoining areas during next 2 hours," the IMD wrote in an early morning tweet.
Operational meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya in a tweet said that the Delhi Airport registered an astonishing wind gust of 102 km/h around 6:00 AM, signifying the intensity of the weather conditions.
As reported by ANI, IMD scientist Kuldeep Srivastava said that there is a western disturbance effect in Jammu and Kashmir that is predicted to come to the plains of North East India region and North East Rajasthan.
He also said that "There is a Western disturbance effect in Jammu and Kashmir. This effect will come to the North East India region and North East Rajasthan. Due to which light rain and clouds are predicted in Delhi also."
