Donald Trump India visit Day 2: US President Donald Trump has a packed schedule today in New Delhi. Earlier, the US President paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and was also given a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held talks at the Hyderabad House, while the US First Lady Melania Trump attended 'Happiness Class' programme at a Delhi school. In the evening, Donald Trump will attend the state banquet hosted in his honour by President Kovind. Later, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will also call on the visiting US President. Trump is scheduled to depart at 10 pm tonight.

Modi-Trump hold talks; trade, defence, security on agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held extensive talks covering the entire spectrum of bilateral ties, including the key areas of defence, security, and trade and investment. She was given a traditional welcome by students who lined the entrance holding flags of the two countries in honour of the visiting dignitary. Delhi police issues traffic advisory

In view of US President Donald Trump's visit in Delhi today, there will be traffic restrictions in some parts of the national capital. "From forenoon till around 4 pm on 25th February, the traffic is likely to remain heavy in Moti Bagh, Chanakyapuri, India Gate, and areas around ITO, Delhi Gate and the adjoining areas of Central and New Delhi," Delhi Traffic Police shared the traffic advisory via a tweet. "On February 25 evening, the traffic is likely to remain heavy in Chanakyapuri, RML roundabout, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi-Gurgaon Road (NH 48) and adjoining areas," the advisory said. Unprecedented security cover at ITC Maurya

Unprecedented security is in place at Delhi's ITC Maurya hotel where US President Donald Trump and his family are lodged. According to sources five-layer security is in place at the hotel. First two layers are manned by personnel of American security agency and FBI while the rest three layers are manned by Indian security forces. This is the first time the entire hotel has been evacuated for the American president as all the 438 rooms at the hotel have been booked for the Americans.

He announced that the two countries will sign deals to sell over USD $ 3 billion in for state-of-the-art helicopters and other equipment for Indian armed forces and said the US should be India's premier defence partner. Trump, who was accompanied by his wife Melania, came to the stadium after a brief visit to Sabarmati Ashram where he spun charkha and garlanded the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are also accompanying him during the visit. From Ahmedabad, the Trumps flew to Agra and visited Taj Mahal. They appreciated the grandeur of the Taj Mahal in the picturesque backdrop of setting sun before departing for Delhi.
