US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have left Washington for their 36 hour three city visit of India starting Monday.

Dan Scavino, assistant to Trump and director of social media for the White House tweeted out a series of pictures on Sunday that showed Trump and the First Lady first boarding Marine One from the White House’ South Lawns and then Air Force One as they embarked on their first visit to India.

“We are wheels up for India, where @realDonaldTrump & @FLOTUS have a full agenda building upon our many shared values & strategic/economic interests. Looking forward to a trip meant to further demonstrate the strong & enduring ties between our two countries! 🇺🇸🇮🇳 #NamasteTrump," said White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham in a Twitter post.

In a predeparture statement Trump said:“I look forward to being with the people of India, we will be with millions & millions of people. I get along very well with PM, he is a friend of mine. PM told me this will be the biggest event they have ever had."

Trump will land in Ahmedabad where prime minister Narendra Modi will receive him and the two will drive down to Sabarmati Ashram where India’s freedom icon Mahatma Gandhi lived.

Then trump and Modi will address the “Namaste Trump" event at the Motera Cricket stadium that can seat more than 100,00 people.Trump will visit the Taj Mahal in Agra before arriving in New Delhi on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, Modi and he will hold official talks and conclude five pacts in areas ranging from homeland security to trade facilitation.
