The case is related to Income Tax (I-T) actions on Pradeep Yadav and others. The I-T dept conducted raids a few months ago and registered FIR.
In the year 2022, the I-T department had conducted raids on Yadav, aged 57, along with another party legislator. The tax evasion investigation focused on certain business groups involved in activities such as coal trading and transportation, execution of civil contracts, extraction of iron ore, and production of sponge iron in Jharkhand. The ongoing money laundering inquiry has its roots in this previously conducted tax case.
