New Delhi: In mounting trouble for former civil aviation minister under the UPA government Praful Patel, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned him on 6 June for questioning in the Deepak Talwar aviation deals case.
Talwar a corporate lobbyist, charged by the agency for favouring deals that caused losses to Air India, had been extradited from Dubai in January this year.
The ED alleged that Deepak Talwar was in regular touch with Praful Patel while he served as a middleman in negotiating deals to favour foreign private airlines, causing losses to Air India.
When contacted, Praful Patel said he will be happy to cooperate with the ED as part of the investigation.
"I will be happy to cooperate with ED for their understanding of the complexities of the aviation industry," Praful Patel told PTI.
