Former Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP leader Kodali Nani was admitted to Hyderabad's AIG Hospital due to health issues, said the party on Wednesday. According to reports, Nani was rushed to Gachibowli AIG Hospital in Hyderabad early Wednesday after experiencing severe chest pain. “Family members immediately took action,” Hans reported.
While initial reports suggested that Kodali Nani had suffered a heart attack, doctors at AIG Hospital clarified that his condition is being treated for a gastric issue, the report added. “They have not yet confirmed a heart attack,” it stated.
Former CM YS Reddy expressed concern over the incident, reports said.
Nani, 53, is a former member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly who represented the Gudivada assembly constituency for two decades in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly. He was a minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet. He has political affiliations with YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) since 2012. Nani started his political journey with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
He began his career as a film producer in the Telugu film industry prior to shifting to politics. As an MLA, he emphasised on different issues from rural development to education to healthcare. He has been part of numerous controversies. Nani was booked for trespass and property damage case linked to a liquor godown incident in Gudivada. He was alleged for indirectly causing suffering that led to the complainant's mother demise.
Nani hails from an agricultural family where he confronted financial hardships during his childhood. Irrespective of it, he pursued education with hard work, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Andhra University after initially studying at Sri Venkateswara University. His interest lies in politics which started during his time in engineering school when he took part in student campaign.
