From Punjabi beats to Bollywood hits: A look at Diljit Dosanjh’s awards and nominations over the years

Prominent singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently won the Critics' Choice Award 2025 for Best Actor, beating Abhishek Bachchan. He received the award for his exceptional performance in Amar Singh Chamkila. Thanking the Film Critics Guild for considering him “worthy of this honour”, he dedicated the award to director Imtiaz Ali.

Diljit Dosanjh began his career in the Punjabi music industry with famous songs like Proper Patola, Laembadgini, and Patiala Peg. His distinctive voice and charming persona are appreciated by millions worldwide, most recently seen in his Dil-Luminati tour. He transitioned to acting with performances in The Lion of Punjab (2011), Jatt & Juliet (2012), Sardaarji (2015), and others.
