G20 summit LIVE Updates: Australia offered Narendra Modi a rock-star welcome Tuesday, during a visit by the Indian leader that was heavy on praise and light on his domestic controversies.
To chants of "Modi! Modi! Modi!" Albanese introduced his "dear friend" to a jazzed-up crowd of Indian-Australians, who he praised for making Australia "stronger and more inclusive".

G20 summit LIVE Updates: As India continues to host G20 meeting in Srinagar on Tuesday, Pakistan Foreign Minister claimed India of “abusing" its presidency of the G20 by holding a tourism conference in Kashmir.
"I wish I could say I was surprised, but I think that this is a continuation in what is becoming a norm now, of India's arrogance on the international stage," he told AFP in a Monday interview in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Notably, even after the boycott of countries like China, Turkey, Indonesia, and Egypt, India successfully kicked off G20 meet in Srinagar on Monday.
In the ongoing G20 meeting in Srinagar, a stall dedicated to Shree Anna millet was installed for guest delegates on Tuesday.
The food stall was set up by "Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) Millet Hub" for guests in Sher-I-Kashmir International Centre during the third G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting.
G20 Summit 2023 LIVE: Other than offering local products of Kashmir, the J&K government also offered millet products to foreign delegates in the ongoing G20 meeting at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
The Jammu and Kashmir government had set up a special food stall ‘Millet Hub’ for foreign delegates in the meeting. Notably, the United Nations General ASsembly declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets in march 2021.

The Chief Coordinator of G20, Harsha Vardhan Shringla, said that the delegates have been very happy with the exposure to India's one of iconic locations. He also added that conducting G20 meeting in Srinagar has helped in creating an environment that has resulted in urban transformation.
On the second day of the meeting, the delegates will complete their session, then they are expected to visit a few locations in Srinagar including Nishat Garden, Cheshma Shahi, Pari Mahal, Kashmir Arts Emporium and Polo View Market. At the end of the day, a grand dinner will also be hosted.

Addressing the third G20 tourism working group meeting, J&K LG Manoj Sinha said that the place has always been the center of knowledge, wisdom & breathtaking landscape.
He also added that the the land had to suffer from state-sponsored terrorism for 30 years. However, PM Modi brought development schemes to empower the state.
“J&K is now open to a new era that is open to growth, peace and development. Today J&K stands as one of the developed states in the country,"he said.

G20 Summit 2023 LIVE: Jammu and Kashmir is using G20 summit as the launchpad for its local products to increase their reach to global audience. On Tuesday, North Kashmir's Bandipora district offered its locally rich products like black cumin, organic rajma to foreign delegates.

As the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir became a host to the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting under India's G20 Presidency, all eyes are set on the historic three-day event being held in Srinagar from May 20-22.
The first day of the G20 tourism meet began on Monday despite a boycott from China and Pakistan, Taiwan News reported. India under its G20 Presidency is currently holding meetings across the country in the lead-up to the G20 Summit scheduled to be held in September in New Delhi.
The mega G20 tourism meet in Srinagar has clearly caught the attention of international media, with many of them highlighting India's efforts of showcasing the restoration of stability and normalcy in Kashmir.
The G20 delegations arrived at Sheikh-ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar as the mega event began. They were greeted by rows of lamp posts illuminated in the colours of the Indian national flag and billboards featuring the G20 logo, Nikkei Asia reported. India is hosting a significant international event in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.
The excitement of authorities over Kashmir's role in India's G20 presidency is palpable, Nikkei Asia reported. Footpaths have been renovated and roadside walls have been painted in peach and white. The development comes as Srinagar undergoes a makeover under a smart city scheme. (PTI)
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Chief Coordinator, G20 on Monday said that around 20 million tourists are expected to visit Jammu and Kashmir this year.
Shringla said that the idea is to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting J-K.
His remarks came while addressing a joint press conference on the first day of the third G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting in Srinagar.
"We expect around 20 million tourists to visit Jammu and Kashmir this year. But the idea is to increase the value in terms of eco-tourism, film tourism, and adventure tourism, not only that but also to increase the number of foreign tourists coming to Jammu and Kashmir, and that attention the G20 meeting will bring," Shringla said.

Film tourism has emerged as a powerful medium to promote the tourism industry and the government is chalking out a comprehensive strategy for its growth in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said on Monday.
He said tourism helps in creating employment opportunities in hospitality and gastronomy.
"We are chalking out a comprehensive strategy for tourism growth. Film tourism has emerged as a powerful medium to promote tourism, to promote a destination," Reddy, the Minister for Culture and Tourism, said.
