Gautam Adani visits Ayodhya for Ram Lalla darshan, says Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is a ‘symbol of India's culture & unity’

Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, arrived in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, April 2, for Ram Lalla darshan at the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir.

Adani and his family flew to Ayodha in his private plane, which landed at the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Dainik Jagran reported.

Adani is reportedly in Ayodhya to attend the hoisting of a special Hanuman flag at the Ram Mandir complex on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on April 2.

The ceremony, which is expected to be attended by nearly 150 prominent figures, including former Bajrang Dal convener Vinay Katiyar and Jai Bhan Singh Pawaiya, will begin at 11:00 AM.

“My family and I received the opportunity to have the darshan of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. This is an emotional moment, a proud moment. This temple is not just a centre of devotion but also a symbol of India's culture, unity and confidence,” Adani said. “Lord Ram's ideals inspire us to walk the path of truth and duty. I pray that Lord Ram's blessings be with all of us and our country continue on the path of progress...”

According to a Dainik Jagran report, Adani will visit a gurukul in Ayodhya after the Ram Lalla darshan, where he will have a special meeting with the students. He will also felicitate them.

At the Gurukul, Adani said, “Adani Foundation will extend all cooperation to preserve this Gurukul culture in this era of AI...”

About Hanuman Jayanti festivities

A massive 'dhwaj yatra' (flag procession) is being organised by devotees from the Bhikhari Pur area of Ayodhya.

Ram Bali Maurya, president of Shri Hanumat Seva Samiti, said the procession is considered one of the largest in the Purvanchal region. It will feature tableaux from seven states and around one lakh flags prepared for the event.

Devotees, many of whom will walk barefoot, will carry the flags to the Sankat Mochan temple to offer them to Lord Hanuman, he added.

In Ayodhya, devotees gathered at the Hanuman Garhi temple in the morning for the celebrations.

Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the mahant of the renowned Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, announced a 10-day festival at the temple. To mark Chaitra Shukla Purnima, special adornments (shringar), processions (jhankis), aarti, and rituals dedicated to Lord Hanuman were performed.

The morning session included shehnai recitals, 'Rudrabhishek' performed by Brahmins, recitation of the Ramcharitmanas, Sita-Ram 'sankirtan', and readings from the Sundarkand, the mahant added.

Hanuman Jayanti

Hanuman Jayanti, also known as Hanuman Janmotsav, marks the birth of "Pavan Putra" (Son of the Wind) Lord Hanuman. On this day, devotees honour and pray to Lord Hanuman, who remains a symbol of unwavering loyalty to Lord Ram.

Lord Hanuman was born to Anjana, a celestial nymph (apsara) cursed to live on Earth, and Kesari, the King of the Vanaras. He is widely considered the 11th Rudra Avatar (incarnation) of Lord Shiva, born to assist Lord Rama in his battle against the demon king Ravana.

As a child, Hanuman famously mistook the rising sun for a ripe mango and leapt into the sky to swallow it. This event led to him being blessed with immortality and extraordinary powers by various deities.

Why is Lord Hanuman called Sankat Mochan?

Lord Hanuman is also called Sankat Mochan, literally translating to "the reliever of troubles", because in the Ramayana, he was the ultimate problem-solver — finding Mata Sita in Lanka and saving Lakshmana’s life by carrying an entire mountain of healing herbs.

Devotees believe that his divine strength and protection can clear any obstacle, whether physical, mental, or spiritual. Chanting his name is said to dispel fear and transform life's most difficult challenges into victories, making him the ultimate saviour in times of distress.
