Gurugram firm restricts employees' exit from office, followed by a clarification

Coding Ninjas, an ed-tech firm based in Gurugram, has apologized for a video that went viral on social media showing a watchman closing the entrance gate of the company's office, seemingly to prevent employees from leaving.

Gurugram-based edtech firm, Coding Ninjas, has provided an explanation in response to a viral video on social media. The video depicts a watchman closing the entrance gate of the company's office, seemingly to prevent employees from leaving.

As per media reports, n the video, the watchman can be heard instructing employees to obtain permission before exiting, as leaving without authorization is prohibited. The clip gained attention after it was shared on Twitter.

It garnered significant engagement, with 693 retweets, 142 quoted tweets, and 3,053 likes. The video's widespread circulation on the social media platform sparked discussions and raised awareness about the incident involving the company's employees

However, the company came up with the clarification saying the action was not ‘intentional’. In a Twitter thread, the company said, “We want to clarify that the incident that recently occurred in one of our offices was due to a regrettable action by an employee. It was immediately rectified within minutes, and the employee acknowledged his mistake and apologised for the inconvenience caused."

The company also added that the “founders have expressed their regret and apologised to all the employees." Coding Ninjas added, “In light of the incident, the founders expressed their regret and apologised to all the employees. This was an isolated incident and we are taking proactive measures to ensure this is not repeated. Disciplinary action is being taken against the concerned employee."

Coding Ninjas said that “this action was not intentional." In a follow-up tweet, it wrote, “This was an anomaly at Coding Ninjas and against the core values we stand for as an organisation. We want to assure everyone that this action was not intentional."
