New Delhi: The IMD on Tuesday said that isolated places over Gujarat are expected to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) office also predicted very heavy rainfall in Telangana in next 48 hours.

The weather department also predicted heavy downpour over East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands throughout on Tuesday.

The IMD said north districts of Gujarat like Banaskantha, Patan, Panchmahal and Kheda are likely to receive widespread to fairly widespread rainfall over the next two days.

Skymet, a private weather agency, predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in east and southeast Rajasthan for another two days. The agency said heavy rains are likely in Kota, Chittorgarh, and Udaipur while moderate rains will lash the city of Jaipur.

Widespread rainfall is likely to lash across Telangana and north coastal Andhra Pradesh. The forecast is that on 28 to 29 August heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Telangana. Some part of coastal Andhra Pradesh is also likely to receive heavy rainfall. The northern part of Telangana is likely to receive heavy rainfall in isolated places, ANI reported.

"Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe," the IMD stated in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin.

Strong winds, speed reaching 45-55 kmph, are very likely to prevail over the southwest Arabian Sea off Somalia coast and west-central Arabian Sea and Odisha coast.

Squally weather is likely to prevail over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea and Gulf of Mannar and adjoining south Tamil Nadu coast. The organization has also advised fishermen not to venture into these areas.
