The Indian Metrological Department (IMD), said that Cyclone Mocha that made landfall in Bangladesh and Myanmar coasts is continuing the weakening trend and will weaken into a very severe cyclonic storm during next 2 hours.
The weather department warned that very heavy rainfall will occur over Northeastern states in association with the Extremely Severe Cyclonic storm “Mocha” (pronounced as “Mokha”) over Northeast Bay of Bengal on 14 May.
-Tripura and Mizoram: Very heavy rainfall on 14 May.
-Nagaland, Manipur and south Assam: Heavy rainfall on 14 May.
-Maximum temperatures are very likely to rise by 2-4°C over many parts of east India during next 3 days
-Maximum temperatures to rise by 2-3°C over many parts of south India during next 5 days
-Thereafter temperatures will fall by about 2°C over Northwest India during next 3 days
-Maximum temperatures will fall by about 2-3°C over Gujarat during next 5 days
-Heat wave is very likely to occur over West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha on 14 May
-Heatwave conditions will also prevail over Odisha during 15 to 17 May and Gangetic West Bengal on 16 May
-Due to humid air and high temperature, Hot and Discomfort weather is very likely over Konkan and Gujarat coast today.

-Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on 14th to 16 May
-Similar conditions will prevail over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from 14 to18 May
-Very heavy falls has been predicted over Assam, Meghalaya on 15, 16 and 18 May and over
-Very heavy rainfall likely to occur over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during 14 to 17 May, 2023.
The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Sunday settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The relative humidity recorded at 8.30 am was 53 per cent, it said.
The weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies with the possibility of dust storm and thunderstorm towards the evening and strong surface winds of 20-40 kmph during the day.
