The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in national capital Delhi. The weather department informed that rainfall along with thunderstorm activity will continue over Northwest India during next 2 days and decrease thereafter.
Yellow alert has also been issued in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand for heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
The weather department warned of traffic disruptions and inundation of low-lying areas due to rains, due to rains int he national capital on Wednesday. With spells of light to moderate rainfall, waterlogging was also reported in several parts of the city. Partly cloudy sky with light rain or thundershowers are expected during the day.
-Rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and occasional gusty winds/squall (40-50 gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Northwest India till 1 June and reduce thereafter.
-Hailstorm very likely over Himachal Pradesh on 31st May and Uttarakhand during 31 May and 1 June.
-Thundersquall or Gusty Wind speed 60-70 kmph very likely over Uttarakhand on 31 May–2 June.
-Heavy rainfall very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and, Uttarakhand today, on 31 May
-Rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds very likely over Kerala, Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka
-Similar rainfall activity will prevail over Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh during next 5 days.
-Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka on 31 May and 1 June and over Kerala during 31 May-4 June.
No significant weather change is likely over rest parts of the country during next 5 days.
-Heat wave conditions very likely over Bihar during 31 May-4 June, Gangetic West Bengal on 1 and 2 June and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on 31 may and 1 June.
-Maximum temperatures will rise by 2-4°C in maximum temperatures very likely over Central Maharashtra during next 3 days.
-No significant change in maximum temperature over Northwest India during next 2 days and gradual rise by 3-5°C thereafter
-Rise by about 2°C in maximum temperatures very likely over East India during next 2 days
-No significant change in maximum temperature very likely over rest parts of the country during next 5 days.
-Maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 4-6°C over Northeast India during next 2 days
-Due to humid air and high temperature, Hot and Discomfort weather is very likely over Konkan, Goa and Gujarat on 31 May and 1 June
