In its latest weather forecast, IMD has predicted rainfall in Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand, and parts of central India. The weather forecasting agency has also predicted fall in temperature in many states in next four days
PremiumIn a respite from scorching heat, IMD has predicted rainfall in many parts of India, which will be followed by a drop in temperature in the next four days. According to IMD, there will be rainfall in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, north eastern states, and parts of western India.
In next five days, high speed winds, rainfall, along with thunderstorm and lightning will bring down the mercury by 2-3 degree Celsius in many states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Assam, Megahalaya, Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, etc.

-Rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightining will be witnessed by the Western Himalyan region, and rainfall over Northwestern plains during 23 to 26 May.
Heatwave alert
IMD, in its daily forecast, has predicted heatwave conditions in West Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, till May 23. Maximum temperature will rise by 2-3 degree Celsius over Northwest India in next 3 days.
Heavy rainfall in these states
On 23 May: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya.
-Heavy rainfall at isolated parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal & Sikkim.
-Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Jharkhand, Odisha,Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, etc.
-Lightening with high speed wind in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal AndhraPradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal & North Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.
-High speed wind with thunderstorm and dust storm with lightning & gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan.
24th and 25th May
-Thunderstrm and Gusty Wind speed at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
-Heavy rainfall in J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Dust storm like situation to continue in Rajasthan.
-Heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya. Other states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will also recceive rainfall in next three days.
26th May
-Isolated to scattered rainfall in Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rainfall at isolated places.
-Hailstorm at isolated places over Bihar and West Bengal and Sikkim,
-Light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh.
