India withheld the X (formerly known as Twitter) account of Chinese state media outlet Global Times on Wednesday. The 'X' account of Turkish broadcaster 'TRT World' was also withheld in India. 

However, the websites of Global Times and TRT World are still accessible in India.

The move came amid the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.

Use of turkish drones in India-Pakistan tension

India said earlier that Pakistan launched between 300 and 400 Turkish drones across 36 locations from Leh to Sir Creek in its failed attempt to target Indian military installations on Thursday night.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force(IAF) said at the briefing last week, “Forensic examination of the drone debris is being undertaken. Preliminary reports suggest them to be Asisguard Songar drone of Turkey.”

China's role

China’s senior foreign ministry official in-charge of Asian affairs Liu Jinsong recently met Indian Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat.

According to news agency PTI, the brief press release from the foreign ministry said the two sides exchanged views on China-India relations and issues of common concern.

"China hopes that India and Pakistan will cement and continue the ceasefire momentum, avoid further conflict, properly handle differences through dialogue and negotiation, and return to the track of political settlement," the statement read.

It added, “China is ready to stay in communication with India and Pakistan and play a constructive role in realising a full and lasting ceasefire between the two countries and keeping the region peaceful and stable.”

On Monday, China welcomed the understanding between India and Pakistan saying that it is in the fundamental and long-term interest of both countries, and is conducive to regional peace and stability.

The Chinese military also refuted reports that its largest military cargo plane has carried arms supplies to Pakistan and warned legal action against those spreading such rumours.

The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAF) has denied that its Xi'an Y-20 military transport aircraft has taken supplies to Pakistan.

India and Pakistan reached an understanding on Saturday to end the conflict after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes.

India carried out precision strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK early on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. Following the Indian action, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10.
