NEW DELHI : The National Basketball Association (NBA) on Tuesday announced that it has partnered with FanCode, a multi-sport aggregator platform, to live-stream NBA games to fans in the country. This is the league’s first live streaming partnership in India.

As part of the agreement, NBA fans who subscribe to FanCode will have live and on-demand access to select games throughout the 2019-20 NBA season, including regular-season games, the playoffs and finals. The ongoing tournament is the 74th NBA season which began on 22 October and will end on 15 April, 2020. The playoffs will begin on 18 April next year and will end with the NBA Finals in June 2020.

“By offering NBA games on FanCode, we will further connect with millions of fans in India who enjoy NBA daily fantasy by offering them features like fantasy research, game recaps, news, live scores and much more," said NBA India managing director Rajesh Sethi. “As the demand for NBA programming and content continues to grow in India, we are committed to providing fans with new and personalized ways to connect with the NBA."

Launched in March, FanCode, owned by Sporta Technologies which also owns Dream11, is NBA’s official fantasy gaming partner in India. It claims to have over 10 million app installs. Games streamed live on the platform will be the same that would be available for fantasy gaming on Dream11.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the NBA, one of the world’s premier sports brands," said Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode. “Basketball fans will now have comprehensive coverage of the NBA on FanCode, including livestreams of all the biggest games, scores, features, news coverage and fantasy research."

The NBA has established a major international presence with games and programming in 215 countries and territories in nearly 50 languages, and merchandise for sale in more than 100,000 stores in 100 countries on six continents. NBA rosters at the start of the 2019-20 season featured 108 international players from 38 countries and territories.
