India's Got Latent case: Ranveer Allahbadia andApoorva Mukhija have reached the office of the National Commission for Women to record their statements before its chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar.

Ranveer Allahbadia case: YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija recorded their statements before National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar on Thursday over the India's Got Latent controversy, in which Allahbadia cracked a ‘distasteful’ joke.

Content creator Ashish Chanchlani was also present at the NCW office for proceedings related to podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial remarks in an episode of India's Got Latent.

Two producers of the show, Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, were also present at the NCW venue.

The YouTubers' lawyers were present at the NCW office as well.

The National Commission for Women had previously summoned Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari, Saurabh Bothra and Balraj Ghai to appear before its chairperson on February 17 to record their statements.

However, due to concerns over safety and other logistical issues, many failed to attend in person. Allahbadia's hearing was then postponed to March 6 after he requested a three-week postponement, citing death threats, officials had said.

India's Got Latent Case: NCW takes note

The women's commission had earlier taken serious note of the vulgar and offensive remarks made by the YouTubers and summoned them along with the show's two producers. 

Several FIRs were lodged against Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, for his comments about parents and sex on Raina's show. Samay Raina deleted all India’s Got Latent episodes from his YouTube channel and assured full cooperation with authorities.

The Supreme Court granted Allahbadia interim protection from arrest over his comments on the show while calling it “vulgar” and saying he had a “dirty mind” that put society to shame.

Allahbadia has issued multiple apologies after receiving heavy backlash for his comments, acknowledging that his remarks were “not just inappropriate but also not even funny.”
