
IndiGo Flights Cancellation Highlights: IndiGo is optimistic to improve services and operated 1,800 flights yesterday after nearly 1,650 flights on the previous day. After seven consecutive days of mammoth cancellations and operational hiccups, IndiGo saw some recovery with the number of cancellations coming down on Monday.
The budget carrier cancelled over 220 flights on Sunday at Mumbai and Delhi airports as per reports. A senior official of the airline said that IndiGo will carry out a "root cause analysis" into the flight disruptions that has happened due to a combination of factors and the focus now is to stabilise operations, which is expected by December 10.
DGCA on Monday said it has received IndiGo's response to the show cause notice issued over the large-scale flight cancellations and will take enforcement action.
It also said that the airline is "profusely apologetic" and deeply regrets the inconvenience and hardship caused to customers following flight cancellations.

IndiGo stated that refunds for flights cancelled between December 3 and 15, 2025 are currently being processed. It said travellers impacted by the disruption can also receive a complete waiver on change and cancellation charges for bookings valid through December 15.
The refunds will go back to the original mode of payment and may show up as one or two separate transactions, it said. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience and said its teams are working continuously, both on-site and in the background, to assist passengers and return operations to normal.
The extensive disruptions to IndiGo flights, stemming from the airline’s lack of preparedness for aviation regulations that had been communicated to the industry over a year earlier, may lead to financial losses through reduced revenue and possible penalties for cancellations, Moody’s Ratings said on Monday, according to PTI.
In its note, Moody’s described the disruptions as "credit negative" for IndiGo, adding, "Despite temporary reprieve, failure to effectively plan for new aviation regulations is credit negative.
IndiGo Flights Cancellation LIVE: IndiGo on Monday, 8 December 2025, issued an update related to the ongoing crisis, and said that the company has established a Crisis Management Group (CMG) on 4 December 2025 at the firm's first board meeting.

IndiGo Flights Cancellation LIVE: Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, informed the Union Parliament on Monday that flight cancellation disruptions were a result of IndiGo's crew rostering and internal planning systems.
Naidu also highlighted that the airline did not flag any issues in the 1 December 2025 clarification meeting with the government with the updated FDTL norms, and assured that everything was running normally.
“On December 1, we held a meeting with IndiGo regarding FDTL when they sought clarifications, and we provided them. They did not flag any issues then, and everything was running normally,” Ram Mohan Naidu told the Union Parliament.
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) registered 134 IndiGo flights cancellations today, including 59 arrivals and 75 departures, ANI reported.
Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) registered 127 IndiGo flights cancellations today, including 65 arrivals and 62 departures, ANI reported.
Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) registered 77 IndiGo flights cancellations today, including 38 arrivals and 39 departures, ANI reported.
Ahmedabad Airport registered 18 IndiGo flight cancellations by 8:00 AM on Monday, including 9 arrivals and 9 departures, ANI reported.
A petition was filed before the Delhi High Court for urgent hearing on the IndiGo crisis issue. On Monday, the Court on listed the PIL for hearing on 10 December. It sought customer redressal over massive IndiGo flight cancellations. The plea also sought directions to the Centre to provide support and refunds to affected passengers. The matter will be presided over by a bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, PTI reported.

Aviation watchdog DGCA on Sunday gave more time to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and the Accountable Manager Isidro Porqueras to submit their responses to the show causes notices seeking their explanations on the flight disruptions.

The Punjab government on Sunday set up a round-the-clock control room at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport to facilitate passengers amid IndiGo's flight disruptions.
The civil aviation secretary said that for any sort of assistance, the passengers can contact the helpline number 95010-15832, adding that people can register their queries on the official social media handles of Chandigarh International Airport Limited.
