Gadkari announces completion of two-lane Jaiswal Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir
The bridge will ease congestion along the Chanderkot to Ramban section and facilitate the seamless passage of vehicles and pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra

New Delhi: Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced the completion of the two-lane Jaiswal Bridge over River Chenab on the Udhampur-Ramban section of NH-44 in Jammu and Kashmir. The 118-meter cantilever bridge has been built at a cost of ₹20 crore.
Taking to Twitter, Gadkari emphasized the significance of this infrastructure milestone, highlighting its dual purpose. “The establishment of this bridge serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it will alleviate congestion along the Chanderkot to Ramban section, ensuring smoother vehicular movement. Secondly, it will facilitate the seamless passage of vehicles and pilgrim traffic during the ‘Shri Amarnath Yatra’ on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 44, which is scheduled to commence shortly," he tweeted.
Gadkari also expressed his commitment to developing exceptional highway infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He said this transformative development not only contributes to the region’s economic growth but also enhances its allure as a prime tourist destination.
