Kharge has invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. Invitations have also been sent to National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah.
Kharge has sent an invitation to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and he is likely to attend the swearing in.
Kharge also personally called up CPI general secretary D Raja and he has confirmed his participation at the swearing in. A similar invite has also been sent to CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury as also to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will attend the swearing in of the Congress government in Karnataka, JD(U) spokesperson Rajib Ranjan said.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is scheduled to leave for Bengaluru on Friday evening to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah as the Karnataka Chief Minister, official sources said.
Stalin, who was invited by Siddaramaiah and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on May 18 to attend the ceremony, is slated to leave by a private carrier on Friday evening, the sources added.
"The CM designate of Karnataka Mr Siddaramaiah & his other colleagues called to personally invite @AITCofficialChairperson & Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for swearing-in tomorrow. She conveyed her best wishes & designated @kakoligdastidar#TMC Deputy Leader in LS to attend ceremony," TMC Rajya Sabha party leader Derek O' Brien tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee will not be attending the swearing-in ceremony of Congress leader Siddaramaiah as the Karnataka CM and has designated party leader Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar for the programme, a Trinamool Congress leader said.
Banerjee had received an invitation from Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to participate in the event on May 20 in Bengaluru.
Amid the reports of him being upset over the denial of the deputy chief ministerial post, Karnataka Congress MLA G Parameshwara on Friday said that it is time to forget the "individual aspirations" and there is a need to "look forward" with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections coming.
"This is the time when we all have to work together. This is the time when we should forget our individual aspirations. This is the time when we should fulfil the promises made to people...As I said, the party is supreme. So, we need to look forward. There is the 2024 Lok Sabha election. We have to consider those things as well," Parameshwara said.
In Karnataka, the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 12.30 pm on May 20.
"We are going to implement our guarantee," Karnataka Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar told ANI as he left his residence for Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru where the swearing-in ceremony will take place on May 20.
Ahead of his visit to the national capital, Karnataka Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar on Friday assured that Congress will fulfil "guarantees" made to the public in the party's manifesto.
"We are going to implement our guarantee," Karnataka Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar told ANI as he left his residence for Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru where the swearing-in ceremony will take place on May 20.
"That is okay. We all have to sacrifice at some point in time. It is a good thing happening," G Parameshwara said when asked about him not being given the CM or Deputy CM post.
Karnataka Congress MLA G Parameshwara, who was reportedly upset over the denial of the deputy chief ministerial post, on Friday said that "sacrifice" has to be made at "some point".
"That is okay. We all have to sacrifice at some point in time. It is a good thing happening," G Parameshwara said when asked about him not being given the CM or Deputy CM post.
Speaking to media persons, Shivakumar said, “Everything is well, everything will be well, everything will be well. We had made a one-line decision: whatever the high command decides, we will abide by it. Ultimately Rahul Gandhi called me and said that you all must work together."
Speaking to ANI over the Dalit community's demand for a Deputy CM post for G Parameshwara, Patil said, "Whoever voted - the Lingayats, the Dalits, the Vokkaligas, the STs, Muslims - all these people have to be given their due share. I am confident our party will do the same. They will give due respect to all these communities and the power will be shared with all communities."
Karnataka Congress MLA MB Patil, who was reportedly upset over the denial of the deputy chief ministerial post, on Friday said that all communities including Lingayat and Dalit need "due share" of powers in the new state government.
The outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that former Prime Minister, HD Deve Gowda is a senior leader who will guide everyone when it comes to land, water, and language of Karnataka.

A Congress delegation, including Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form the government.

Siddaramaiah represented the Chamundeshwari constituency in Mysuru in the Karnataka assembly five times - in 1983 as an Independent, in 1985 on a Janata Party ticket, in 1994 and 2004 for the Janata Dal, and in 2006 for the Congress by a lean margin of 257 votes.

Congress leader DK Shivakumar has risen from being a member of the National Students Union of India, the student wing of the Congress to becoming the party's Karnataka president and now a deputy chief minister-designate.

A seasoned political leader with socialist leanings, Siddaramaiah is set to be Karnataka Chief Minister for a second term with the Congress leadership deciding to entrust him with the task that entails quick delivery on the promises to people including "five guarantees".
A leader with strong grassroots connect, Siddaramaiah has been associated with the formulation of state budgets for several years and has an eye for detail.
Sources said Telangana Chief Minister and BRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao, Odisha Chief Minister and BJD leader Naveen Patnaik, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP leader Y S Jagan Mohan and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have not been sent any invitations.

Siddaramaiah, the nine-time MLA, will be the next Karnataka chief minister, Congress announced after four days of hectic parleys. In the past four days, Delhi has seen Congress huddling for meetings between the top leadership to hammer out a solution between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar -- the two chief ministerial aspirants.
“Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called us and gave this regard. We all have accepted, whatever the formula has been generated," DK Shivakumar said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Congress leader Siddaramaiah as the Karnataka CM, is likely to skip the event, a top source at the state secretariat said on Thursday.
A representative of Banerjee will, however, be attending the programme, he added.
"The CM is likely to skip the swearing-in-ceremony. She may be assigning someone to represent the state there," the bureaucrat told PTI.
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, NC chief Farooq Abdullah and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik have also been invited.
The BJP on Thursday accused the Congress of ignoring sub-regional aspirations and prominent communities with its choice of Siddaramaiah as the new Karnataka chief minister and DK Shivakumar as his deputy and alleged that corruption has won.
He is known as the "trouble shooter" of the Congress but when it came to becoming the Chief Minister, D K Shivakumar couldn't clear the hurdle and was pipped to the post by Siddaramaiah.
With Shivakumar as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, the party scored a resounding victory in the May 10 elections with 135 seats in the 224-member Assembly. And he appeared to be "the man of the moment".
The 61-year-old eight-time MLA, whose organising skills earned him full praise by the party central leadership particularly in the recent high-stakes polls, put up a spirited fight to bag the coveted post but had to settle for the deputy Chief Minister's post.
"Karnataka CM-designate Siddaramaiah spoke with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot over the phone. Siddaramaiah wished him on his birthday and discussed the date for the swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony will be held on May 20 at 12.30 pm. Siddaramaiah today evening will stake the claim to form the Government," sources told ANI.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, after formally announcing the next Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, on Thursday said that the party's formula is service for people and that the oath-taking ceremony is not just a mere celebration but the grand old party's dedication to democracy.
In an interview exclusively with ANI, Surjewala said, "All the allies will be invited to the swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister and the deputy chief minister."
"Our only formula is the service of people. Whoever wants to serve the people can do so, as much as they want. All our allies will be invited (to the oath-taking ceremony). This is not a celebration but Congress's dedication to democracy...those who want to fight for democracy and save the Constitution, can attend the event...," he said while talking to ANI.

Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar when asked if he is happy on being named the CM-designate, he said, “Why should I be upset? There is a long way to go."
For a man rooted in 'Janata Parivar' for two-and-half-decades and once known for strident anti-Congress stance, it has been a remarkable turn-around for Siddaramaiah, who is now all set to be sworn in as Karnataka's Chief Minister for the second time, after consolidating his position in the grand old party.
From early 1980s to 2005, Siddaramaiah, who comes from a poor farmer's family, was a die-hard anti-Congressman, but his ouster from JD(S) of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, brought him to political cross-roads, and made him join the very party he had opposed.
For his patience and persistence, the seasoned politician known for his bluntness, Siddaramaiah, realised his life-time ambition and went on to become the Chief Minister from the Congress party in 2013.
