BENGALURU : Government services in Karnataka will now be available at the press of a button, with chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Tuesday launching Jana Sevaka, a call and app-based door delivery of various government services.

The move is part of the government’s efforts to digitize its working and provide relief to citizens who are forced to run from pillar to post between multiple departments to avail basic services such as procuring documents and certificates. “The initiative is launched with the motive of getting government services delivered to the citizen’s doorsteps," Yediyurappa said on Tuesday in Bengaluru.

There are 53 services that can be availed through this initiative, including police verification certificates, application for pension, income certificates, caste certificates, health card, and even unemployment certificates. The citizen can call the toll-free number, fix an appointment for a home visit, validate and scan documents, get SMS updates and get the final requested item for a fee of 115 in total.
