PremiumIRCTC Heliyatra Tuesday started bookings for the Kedarnath helicopter rides. The IRCTC portal i.e., https://heliyatra.irctc.co.in/opened at 12 noon for the bookings. The pilgrims can book helicopter rides between 28 May 2023 and 15 June 2023. The website also informed that ticket booking beyond June 15 will be informed later.
The CEO and additional secretary of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), C Ravi Shankar, said the organisation has increased the slots for helicopter rides this year.
He further said registration for char dham yatra is mandatory for booking of the helicopter service. The helicopter journey tickets cannot be booked without the same.
How to book Kedarnath Heli tickets?
Firstly, you need to register yourself for the Kedarnath Yatra. After registering, apply at https://www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in/, where you have to create your login ID.
Thereafter, you need to select the Heli operator company, then date, and fill in the slot time of your journey. Share the number of passengers travelling. Once you are done with all the information, you have to enter the one-time password (OTP) which the website will send at your registered mobile number. Once OTP is entered successfully, you need to pay the ticket price online.
Maximum two helicopter tickets can be booked per user with maximum six passengers per Ticket i.e. a user can book for a group of maximum 12 passengers on 2 tickets with a single user ID.
Helicopter bookings are only allowed based on tour date of Shri Kedarnath Dham provided in Char Dham Yatra Registration.
Ticket is valid with original ID proof as submitted at the time of ticket booking. Screenshot of printed ticket, half printed ticket, etc. will be considered as fake/invalid tickets. Any ticket found fake or duplicate will not be allowed to fly. Such persons may be detained by law enforcing agencies.
Kedarnath Helicopter ticket prices
Helicopter companies charge between Rs5,495 and Rs7,740 per person for round-trip transportation to and from Kedarnath Dham on the same day.

Kedarnath Dham shrine is situated in mountainous terrain in Uttarakhand at a height of 12,000 feet. There is no road leading to the temple. Visitors have to hike 18 kilometres uphill from Sonprayag to get there. Hence very few people are able to visit the most significant pilgrimage sites for Hindus because of the distance and difficult mountainous terrain to get there.
